Glenn County OneStop has been awarded a small grant
to assist VETERAN’S in moving quickly from military life into high-wage
jobs and civilian careers.
This project will focus on training
veterans for careers in the following industries:

Healthcare, (2) Protective Services, (3) Installation/Maintenance, and (4)
Production and Transportation.
The Glenn County OneStop
will be able to serve veterans who have service-connected disabilities;
campaign veterans; veterans with significant barriers; as well as eligible

Recently-separated
veterans will be a high priority for this project. This group
is most in need of identifying transferable skills, re-training into civilian occupation

ROOF LOADER ~ Looking
for part-time on-call roof loaders who are reliable, careful and hardworking.
This is an entry level position with plenty of advancement opportunities for
hard working team members. Meek's values employees who show up ready to work
and can quickly and safely get roofing materials unloaded from a lifted surface
(such as forklift pallet or conveyer system) to the customer's roof. Roof
loaders have an hourly base pay as well as piece rate incentive. Occasionally
may be asked to work in the lumber yard as a loader when roof jobs are slow.
This is a physically demanding job that requires heavy lifting up to 85 lbs,
repetitive bending, stooping, squatting and standing for long periods of time
(up to 2 hours) as well as exposure to outside elements such as extreme heat to
extreme cold.

CUSTOMER LOADERS ~ This is an entry level position with plenty of

and then load them up promptly and safely. A loader is also responsible for
loading/unloading delivery vehicles, keeping product rotated and stacked,
shipping and receiving as well as good housekeeping. Accuracy in pulling
product and building loads is required. This is a physically demanding job that
requires heavy lifting up to 85 lbs, repetitive bending, stooping, squatting
and standing for long periods of time (up to 2 hours) as well as exposure to
outside elements such as extreme heat to extreme cold. We are looking for
loaders with a valid class C driver's license and clean driving record for
occasional light deliveries in our smaller trucks.

INSULATION INSTALLERS ~ Experience with
blowing and bats preferred but will train the right person. Must have a valid
license and a clean driving record. Must be able to lift up to 85 lbs. Meek's offers
a competitive base salary WITH piece rate pay.
